Wrenching film poses marketing challenge

Lionsgate’s Challenge - Marketing the Grim ‘Push - Based on the Novel by Sapphire’ to Audiences Seeking Fluff.

The story centers on an illiterate and obese African-American teenager in 1980s Harlem who is pregnant with her father’s child — for the second time — and is also abused by her mother.

Marketing challenge. Right. Ya know what? They could sell ground glass as a refreshment in the lobby while the movie is playing.

The Wrestler doesn't totally suck

WARNING: No spoiler.

I really didn't care for the last 25% of The Wrestler. It made me feel like the entire movie was a waste of acting. Rourke and Tomei did very good jobs, but by the end it was like, "Who cares? These people aggravate me." I had high hopes for the movie which were met at the beginning and went down-hill from there.
